Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind - review Jul 20th 2013, 08:00
'Wizard's First Rule is an action-packed, fantasy-filled epic, full of mystery and danger'
Wizard's First Rule is an action-packed, fantasy-filled epic, full of mystery and danger. Richard Cypher, the Seeker of Truth, Kahlan Amnell, the Mother Confessor, and Zeddicus Z'ul Zorrander, wizard of the First Order, along with a boundary warden, a dragon and a little girl, must stop the evil tyrant Darken Rahl from claiming the ancient magic of Orden.
My favourite character is Scarlet, the dragon, because her character is so strong and humerous. I also loved Zedd - he is just about the wisest and most hilarious wizard ever seen in the fantasy genre, I think. Darken Rahl is one of those really sick twisted evil guys, but still a great character because being that evil gives you a whole new dimension to the character, trying to figure out his thoughts and what he'll do next. Kahlan and Richard are deeply in love, but because of Kahlan's confessor power (if she doesn't keep the power in control, anyone she touches will fall immediately in love with her, die for her, tell her anything etc), they cannot be together (but love always wins in the end...).
One of the best books I've ever read. Its the first in a series of 12 books. I suggest only 12 year olds and older go for this one.
